We are an educational design agency based in Sydney, Australia​.

We have over 30 year’s experience working in the the higher education and corporate training and development sectors​

Founded in 2018 by Xanthe Lawson (BA, Dip Ed, MA), we are now a close-knit team of highly experienced learning designers, educational technologists, digital media producers, videographers, and animators. Our breadth of experience makes us a one-stop-shop for learning design projects large and small. Our expertise in adult learning allows us to advise universities and corporations through each step of the training development process, from curriculum design and resource development to implementation and technical support.​ 

In previous projects we have collaborated with local and international subject matter experts and organisations to develop educational and training programs in public health, medicine, science, micro-financing, prostate cancer nursing, vector surveillance and control, and modern slavery to name a few.​

Xanthe Lawson

Managing Director

Xanthe has been working in the field of educational design for over ten years. She worked in secondary and adult education for some 15 years before this then discovered the field of instructional design whilst doing a Master of Arts majoring in eLearning. ​

‍She has worked as a learning designer for the School of Public Health and Community Medicine at the University of New South Wales, Sydney (UNSW) and a learning design services manager in the Pro-Vice Chancellor Education Unit, UNSW.​

‍Xanthe founded Studio 3 Learning in 2019 so that she could work with a broader group of clientele from around the world and share her passion for great learning design across the education, not-for-profit, government, and corporate sectors.​

Alex Maiden​

Senior Digital Producer

Alex has worked in New York, London, and Sydney in video editing and mastering roles. He has over eight years’ experience in video editing, audio editing, motion graphics, and graphic design, and is currently working on a web-based 3D game to help learners develop skills in preparing meals for people with dysphagia. ​

‍Alex has worked on a wide range of projects at Studio 3 Learning including graphic design for vector surveillance and control units, software training videos for the Australian Nuclear  Science and Technology Organisation, and video assembly, motion graphics and audio mixing for Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia training.​

Tina Peckmezian​

Senior Learning Designer​

Tina has been working in the field of instructional design since 2017, initially as a learning designer in the Pro-Vice Chancellor Education Unit at UNSW, then as a researcher and content developer for NPS Medicinewise. She has been managing educational design projects at Studio 3 Learning since 2019. ​

‍Tina has high level expertise in digital asset development, including  storyboarding, filming, video and audio editing, and liaising with animators and designers to produce dynamic educational resources. ​

‍She is also expert in content design and development including needs analysis, research, writing, editing, and evaluation. And as if this isn’t enough, she holds a PhD in Biology from Macquarie University, Sydney. ​

Caitlin Palmer

Senior Educational Technologist and Web Designer

Caitlin has a background in web design including user experience, user flows,  HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. She has a Bachelor of Creative Technologies and Diploma in Web and UX Design. ​

‍Caitlin has worked on a wide range of projects at S3L  including the graphic design and Articulate build for the CDC Event Based Surveillance suite of courses, graphic design and Articulate build for the University  of Sydney Modern Slavery Awareness course, design and iSpring build for the PacMOSSI suite of modules on vector control and surveillance in Pacific Island  countries, and website refresh for Enjoy Safe Meals.​

Penelope Wilkinson​

Videographer & Editor

Penny has almost 20 years of experience as a director, camerawoman, and editor in documentary film, video art, and creative & educational content. ​​

‍Her award-winning projects have screened at local and international film festivals, and she is the recipient of several grants and residencies, including the Berlinale Talents program.​​

‍She has a BA in English Literature and is Cultural Competency Accredited. Penny is completing a post-graduate degree focusing on speculative design and virtual reality for peacebuilding.​​

‍She has worked on a range of projects at Studio 3 Learning, including a suite of videos on the Qualitative Research Network, filming and compiling a suite of videos on best practice mealtime support for people with disability, and promotional videos for the ANSTO’s Project Management Information System.​

David Maiden

Senior Project Manager

David is a highly skilled IT project manager with extensive experience managing multi-million-dollar programs within a range of portfolios including full-scale information technology transformations, access security and intrusion prevention projects, identity management projects, large-scale commercial web development projects, and enterprise level infrastructure projects. ​

‍With his breadth of experience across the education, finance, technology and government sectors, he provides invaluable advice on the end-to-end delivery of Studio 3 Learning projects including investment, scheduling, change and risk.
